Lay back, act natural, and let’s take some pictures

This isn’t about a photo session, or even the pictures, it’s about You. Forget about posing and feeling stiff in front of the camera. Imagine going on a walk with an old friend, who just happens to have a camera with them. My process is free and flowy, and my only goal is to capture your true self.

FAQ

This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

Together we will pick a location, style, and color palette for your photoshoot. The deposit amount will be applied towards the session fee. Client agrees to pay upon date of session the final amount due.
I accept cash, venmo, paypal, zelle and cashapp.

My goal for my family sessions is to take a lifestyle photography approach. This means I am focusing on capturing the true spirit and emotion of your family. You can expect some lightly posed images:
- posed images with everyone looking at the camera
- photos of parents with each child or all the children
- siblings all together
- individual portraits of your children
- families together on the ground
- closeness
but the majority of the gallery will aim to document your family's true self.
Expect to find images with: snuggling, hand holding, hugging, kisses. I will likely tell you to get closer many times throughout our hour together! When my client look at their galleries, I want them to feel the love they have for their families.

How many pictures will I receive?

The number of pictures depends on the package you've picked. I will share all edited pictures with you via Google Drive and online gallery within 2 weeks.

How long do I have to wait to receive my photos?

After your session, I will be working hard behind the scenes to cull the best photos (eliminating duplicates, blurs, and blinks) and your gallery is typically ready within 2 weeks of your session. Depending on your package, I will soon deliver an online gallery so you can view and download photos.

Do you provide all raw files?

My sessions are organized by packages, and a certain number of edited photos (not unedited images) are included with the session fee. The offer clients meet before the session explains what is included in the purchased package. My prices have taken into account the final number of photos to be delivered, both from a usage/licensing and an editing standpoint.

Giving away RAW files is not "the norm" in any other field of photography. In fact, giving away RAW files is equal to giving away my copyright and it completely disregards the Copyright Act of 1976, which protects the value of a photographer’s images.

To protect my reputation, to prevent my images from being processed incorrectly, and for the sake of creative control, I do not give out RAW files nor do we hand over all of your unretouched jpegs.

I really cares about two things: my clients and the quality of my work. I’d like to thank all my past and future clients for understanding and respecting my “no RAW files” policy. The last thing I want is my images being processed incorrectly, or ending up edited with a quality that does not meet my standards.

Thank you and I appreciate your understanding!

What should I wear?

The single most important consideration when you're choosing your outfits is that you all feel comfortable and confident. Focus on accomplishing a cohesive look and dressing in outfits that will allow your photos to take on a timeless feel.

Your clothing should reflect your family style! I always recommend that mom finds something she feels amazing in, then work the rest of the family off of that. I really do encourage Moms to wear a dress. Long dresses that have movement and allow movement photography so beautifully!

Start by picking a palette of 3-4 colors. Let this be your starting place. When putting together your palette, think in terms of tones: blue tones, earth tones, neutrals, pastels, etc. Think about tones that you like, as well as colors that look great on you. You know what looks best with your hair and skin tones, so plan towards whatever makes you the most confident! Everyone in the family can express their own sense of style within the chosen color palette, and the whole group will coordinate beautifully.

Are you available outside of Vancouver?

Yes, sure! We can always agree with you on the possibility of doing a photo shoot outside of Vancouver, I'll just ask you additional fees for the road to the place. These are additional places such as: trip to the ocean, waterfalls, flower fields, mountains with a photographer - just contact me.
